The proposed venue would also have food trucks, bars and stalls as well as a VIP area upstairs and alcohol would be sold on site. According to online licensing documents, LDN Riverside hopes the new nightclub would attract young to middle-aged people who come from the local area as well as Greater London and Essex.
The events company already has a sister venue in Canning Town called LDN East which has a capacity of 1,000 people and has moved from "strength to strength" since it opened over 18 months ago. LDN Riverside want to open a new nightclub on the Abbey Wharf Industrial Estate in Barking that would host music events specialising in house and electronic music from Friday through to Sunday. Met Police have blasted plans to open a huge nightclub for up to 2,000 people on a 'filthy' industrial estate in East London as they fear party-goers will fall into ditches and there could be a rise in sexual assaults.
